You will serve as a FACILITIES OPERATIONS SPECIALIST in the Naval Aviation Schools Command (NASC) of NAVAL AVIATION SCHOOLS COMMAND.

Duties

You will conduct quality control inspections of repairs, maintenance, or construction efforts performed by contractors to verify compliance with facility development. You will develop contract requirements or task orders to maintain facility condition and function within budget constraints. You will maintain facility databases or spreadsheets to report status of service requests. You will resolve safety issues or concerns to maintain facility standards. You will brief decision makers on potential obstacles for facilities project completion.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing office software products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and database applications, to prepare, maintain and distribute facilities and equipment information; 2) Evaluating pool operations, facility equipment, service operations and technical requirements involving specialized classroom and pool training equipment (i.e. wave generators, rotor wash systems, towers, hoists) to ensure facilities and equipment are suitable for safe and compliant training operations; 3) Preparing budgets based on plans for maintenance, repair work or new construction to increase program effectiveness; 4) Coordinating with others to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance are scheduled and performed in a timely manner. Performance of work may take place in attics, crawlspaces, ceilings and other limited access spaces, in rough terrain or in construction sites when planning and monitoring construction. The work may require some common characteristics and abilities of physical agility and dexterity to work in limited access spaces and to move, lift or carry moderately heavy objects of 50 pounds or less. Work Environment Work is performed primarily in training facilities, pools, offices and shops in the process of conducting inspections and maintenance actions. Outdoor exposure is required. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in an engineering, industrial arts, property management or business administration.
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in an engineering, industrial arts, property management or business administration.
OR
