You will serve as a Rigger Supervisor I in the Lifting and Handling Department, Rigging and Equipment Operations Division, Rigging Branch of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will serve as the first line Rigger Supervisor, charged with exercising supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing refueling/defueling shop and/or mixed trade work.
You will establish and conduct extensive mock up training for the qualifications of mechanics of various trades to perform refueling work.
You will be responsible for the quantity and quality of the work performed by subordinates.
You will provide performance evaluation and feedback to leaders and journeymen.
You will plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools.
You will establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Performing duties including Direct work of subordinates; establish and conducting extensive mock-up for the qualification of mechanics of various trades to perform refueling work and carry out EEO policies and communicating support of these policies to subordinate; sand manage the repair and the work of nuclear reactors and reactor components for nuclear subs and/or nuclear surface ships.
Record employees time, accidents, injuries and their causes, work progress and similar information; Plan work operation including obtaining and reviewing all applicable paperwork such as blueprints, Test Memorandum(TM), Design Memorandums (DM), Production engineering Memorandums (PEM) , Nuclear Power Engineering Authorizations (NPEA) and process instructions.
