About the Position: Located in a high profile, fast paced environment. Serves as a Continuous Process Improvement (CPI)/Lean Six Sigma (LSS) specialist for a complex multi-service medical treatment facility. Works with both civilians and military.
Candidate must have black belt certification. Preferred certification Master Black belt. Situational Telework in accordance with agency policy.
Duties
Serves as the project leader or advisor for LSS and CPI projects within the MTF clinical, functional and business areas, and as a technical expert for comprehensive management studies for all process improvement projects.
Responsible for implementing quantitative and qualitative methods within the scope of the respective project and appropriate report of results.
Provides technical direction in areas of process improvement analysis, and the methodology required to develop and substantiate a business case for the selected project, project management, and oversight of the CPI/LSS Program, and facilitation.
Responsible for analysis, facilitation, reporting, and providing recommendations for process improvements, improving quality, reducing costs, and establishing appropriate process metrics and process controls.
Serves as a Trainer/Mentor and coordinates subject matter expertise in developing solutions and measuring the implementation of the recommended processes pertinent metric(s) necessary to grow a cadre of Process Improvement Specialists.
Analyze current LSS training programs to ensure MTF (medical) compliance. Deliver formalized Lean Six Sigma training to educate employees at all levels in Lean Six Sigma.
Utilizes a wide range of analytical, statistical and mathematical tools, is responsible for defining a quantifiable relationship between the input and output variables. Identifies and recommends which tools, software, and training are required.
Ensure the proper tools are utilized in defining the key processes (such as Excel, Minitab, Visio and project management software as applicable).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Position requires incumbent obtain and maintain Black Belt certification; Master Black belt preferred.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: facilitating complex quality and Lean Six Sigma (LSS) process improvement activities within a medical treatment facility environment; utilizing various continuous process improvement strategies to identify and propose solutions to the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) process; and mentoring Lean Six Sigma project teams in the use of quality tools and techniques.
