The incumbent serves as an attorney-adviser, performing substantive review, research, and analysis on matters in accordance with the ongoing operational and programmatic needs of the regional office or the OAO, as applicable. The incumbent assists the Regional Chief Administrative Law Judge (RCALJ) or the Executive Director of OAO, as assigned, in the execution of their duties, representing in meetings, conferences and discussions concerning important complex hearing and appellate related matters. Furnishes technical advice to Administrative Law Judges (ALJs), other hearing office staff, Administrative Appeals Judges (AAJs), or other OAO staff, as assigned..

Qualifications
Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include experience in reviewing claims under Titles II, XVI and/or XVIII of the Social Security Act, which includes analyzing the claim and preparing written recommendations on cases; knowledge of Agency interpretation of case law, legal opinions, and rulings; ability to conduct extensive legal research; analyzing issues and evidence in formulating decisions; communicating orally and in writing with a variety of contacts; skill in presenting fully supporting findings.
