About the Position: This Interdisciplinary position is located at the U.S. Army Operational Command, with a duty location of Fort Cavazos, Texas. Recruitment incentive or relocation incentive may be authorized if it is determined to be in the best interests of the Government.

Duties

Serves as an analyst for one or more testing support roles such as test technology (modeling, simulations, instrumentation, and test control products and projects). Works on several projects simultaneously. Also serves in capability development, and/or methodology and analysis (strategic planning, program objective memorandums (POMs), and consolidating, validating, analyzing, manipulating, organizing, and briefing data). Maintains liaison, coordinates, and resolves matters with higher headquarters, proponent agencies and Operational Test Command staff in mutual endeavors. Manages workflow to ensure suspense’s are met in an efficient manner. Provides technical guidance in the development of test design plans; data collection, reduction, and analysis plans; test methodology; broad categories of materiel, equipment, modeling and simulation, systems integration, and funding. Uses methodologies to advance current technology and provide guidance to management on future advances in the data science and project management of technology data collection, reduction, analysis, and visualization.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Employee must obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license and any installation and/or DoD licenses required for the type of vehicle being driven.
• This position is subject to a Temporary Duty or business travel requirement of 40% or less of the time. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft.
• This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Test and Evaluation Certification within 60 months of entrance on duty.
• A one-year trial/probationary period may be required.

To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); OR (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Combination of Education and Experience: College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: 1. Professional registration or licensure - Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Basic Education Requirement for Operations Research - 1515 series: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. Education

Basic Education Requirement for Mathematical Statistician- 1529 series:

A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, of which at least 12 semester hours were in mathematics and 6 semester hours were in statistics.

OR

B. Combination of Education and Experience: At least 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, including at least 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

Basic Education Requirement for Statistician- 1530 series:

A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc.

OR

B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The experience should have included a full range of professional statistical work such as (a) sampling, (b) collecting, computing, and analyzing statistical data, and (c) applying statistical techniques such as measurement of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, analysis of variance, and tests of significance.

Basic Education Requirement for Computer Scientist - 1550 series:

A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in computer science or bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.

Basic Education Requirement for Data Science Series - 1560 series:

A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

OR

B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
