The National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) leads the nation's effort to protect the United States from terrorism by integrating, analyzing and sharing information to drive whole-of-government action and achieve our national CT objectives.
Duties
Provide a technical vision as ITS' Senior Data Architect using your unique skill set to lead the no-fail mission of integrating NCTC's existing and next generation data architecture.
Lead the creation of a vision to translate NCTC mission needs into data designs, processes, and prototypes that accelerate the Center's ability to understand and use its growing store of unique terrorism information.
Provide strategic solutions and a perspective on mission issues and develop innovative strategies to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of data processes and data use.
Provide and develop methods of simplifying complex technical concepts to create useful and actionable insights.
Lead and initiate emerging technology development projects and guiding from vision to prototype to accredited enterprise tool.
Develop analysis of program alternatives.
Qualifications
Expert skills in data science, data architecture, and data engineering.
Superior ability to demonstrate the use confluence of skills through academic training, hands-on coding, project management, and/or strategic visioning.
Expert ability to strategically orchestrate data architectural initiatives.
Expert experience collaborating with mission users, developers, and leadership on multiple, simultaneous enterprise level efforts on mission critical projects.
Expert experience in prototyping, data analytics, emerging technologies, or technical innovation.
Expert Knowledge of the CT mission, customers, roles, and data sets.
Strong ability to build consensus, work effectively and independently, and develop strong professional relationships.
Expert ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, complex information in a clear, concise manner that is targeted to and meets the needs of diverse audiences with different perspectives and objectives.
Expert attention to detail and experience working with diverse technical teams with a range of skill and experience levels.
Expert knowledge of AI and ML fundamentals, such as ontology development and use, graph databases, and data structuring.
Superior knowledge of analytic methods and methodological tools in one or more of the following areas: mathematics; computer science; data visualization, software development.
5-7 years of related experience.
A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics or statistics or field directly related to the position requirements.
