About the Position: This is an Mail Clerk (Office Automation) position located within the Human Resources Command G6, Fort Knox, KY.
Duties
Review incoming material, including directives, mail, publications and private carrier recorded mail services
Control all registered, certified, insured and express mail.
Screen outgoing mail to ensure compliance with DoD, Army and U.S. Postal procedures.
Inspect all official mail to separate by classification, priority and zones.
Sort incoming mail and route to organizations
Requirements
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- Permanent Change of Station (PCS) cost is not authorized.
- Must be able to pass a pre-placement medical and annual medical surveillance exam in accordance with Occupational Health requirements.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires the ability to stand for long periods and walking; lifting and carrying moderately heavy (under 50 pounds) packages and trays of mail; pushing mail carts and trucks

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
