The primary purpose of this position: To serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to 7th Security Forces Squadron Plans and Programs section.
The organizational location of this position is: Air Force Global Strike Command, 7th Bomb Wing, 7th Mission Support Group, 7th Security Forces Squadron, Plans and Programs, Dyess AFB, TX.
Duties
DUTY 1: Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Security Forces Plans & Programs division, ensuring that all plans & programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
DUTY 2: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
DUTY 3: Represents the 7th Bomber Wing with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
DUTY 4: Oversees the Personnel Security Program for the Unit.
DUTY 5: Assists base unit and staff agency security managers in implementing security education and motivation programs.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes independently planning, organizing, and directing the work of the flight to achieve goals and objectives and ensure compliance with security legal and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of information, industrial, personnel, and physical security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of information, industrial, personnel, and physical security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
5. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
6. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the installation.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
