Apply computer-aided design and modeling tools and techniques to plan, design and evaluate the aerodynamic performance characteristics of flows associated with inlets and nozzles.
Perform aerospace engineering studies with elements or components from related disciplines, such as systems engineering, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, turbomachinery, acoustics and integrated propulsion system design and operation.
Develop and apply appropriate computer mathematical models to perform required analyses.
Plan and conduct experiments or review data from experiments to evaluate performance in areas of air-breathing propulsion systems.
Prepare technical documents documenting processes, research and results. Prepare and present research at professional meetings and conferences. Publish research in conference proceedings and professional journals.
Consult and coordinate with other engineers and professionals at the center, in the agency, and those of other agencies who are in the same or complementary areas of responsibility.
Prepare technical study documents for and provide technical advice and consultation to other professionals internal to NASA, other Agencies, or contractor personnel.
