About the Position: This position is located at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, with the Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) Activity, TMDE Support Region East. .

Duties

Implement technical procedures required by test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) requirements. Calibrate TMDE to define the accuracy and uncertainties of the equipment. Apply electronic principles to collect data for TMDE. Prepare test and certification reports containing values, corrections, and/or uncertainties for calibrated instruments. Assist users in instrument application and calibration requirements for TMDE. Develop TMDE certification documents in support of the mission.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Lifting requirement of 40-50 lbs.
• 1-year probationary period may be required.
• Pre-employment and annual physical examinations required.
• Business travel/TDY (temporary duty) may be required up to 10% of the time.

The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending during the course of extended periods on measurements. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS. The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
