Duties
As an Office of Compliance Director, you will:
Establish strategic direction and priorities for the Office of Compliance (OC) with the aim of advancing FinCEN's and the Department of the Treasury's goals and objectives with respect to promoting compliance with the BSA through engagement, examination, guidance, and outreach.
Create, enhance, revise, and implement the OC's policies and procedures with respect to various work functions and business processes in order to marshal and maximize available resources, provide technical expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on BSA compliance matters, conduct regulatory examinations in a targeted and comprehensive manner, participate in outreach events to and engagements with public and private sector audiences, and exchange information and collaborate with federal and state regulators on BSA compliance and policy issues.
Oversee the formulation, planning, development, and implementation of programs, initiatives, strategies, or projects to determine and improve the level of compliance with BSA requirements and the effectiveness of BSA examination efforts across all financial institution segments.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Reviewing and analyzing reports of examination or similar regulatory information regarding compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or similar laws; OR
Reviewing, developing or implementing compliance programs used by financial institutions; OR
Establishing and directing supervisory or compliance related policies and priorities through engagement, examination, implementation, guidance or outreach.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
