You will serve as a PLANNER/ESTIMATOR (ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC MECHANIC NUCLEAR) in the Nuclear Planning and Engineering Department (Code 2300) of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will perform various planning, execution, and financial functions incidental to Electrical or Electronic Mechanic trade project tasking.
You will serve as the point of contact for communications concerning the Electrical or Electronic Mechanic trades specifically between Shop 051, 067 and the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department.
You will provide detailed labor estimates of Electrical or Electronic Mechanic trade work necessary to complete the repairs, modification, removal or installation of nuclear propulsion systems, subsystem and axillary system components.
You will serve as the subject matter expert to all Project Coordinators, Project Engineers and Management on
Electrical or Electronic Mechanic Trade specific work at meetings and conferences within the Nuclear
Engineering Planning Department.
You will identify high nuclear radiation exposure work and innovate methods of completion that manage to
reduce that exposure to the minimum quantity necessary to complete the work.
You will perform detailed studies of needed labor and materials for work that has never been attempted or
completed as they pertain to Nuclear Propulsion Systems.
Requirements

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
