About the position: This position will be assigned to the Tyndall Natural Resources Department.
This is a term position with a not to exceed date of 30 April 2024. This is a Flexible position.
Duties
The purpose of this position is to operate the Tyndall Natural Resources game check station.
Interact with users of the outdoor recreation, hunting and fishing programs.
Provide support to the wildlife conservation and resource directions, and answering questions concerning Tyndall's recreational programs.
Collect basic data by pulling biological samples, weighing, taking measurements and age of deer and other animals brought to the check station.
Assist the wildlife biologist as assigned in other facts of the game and non-game management programs.
Keep neat, accurate and detailed data as required.
Work requires periods of standing with some walking and bending.
Work involves an irregular schedule to include both daytime and evening shifts on weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
Work involves an exposure to extreme weather conditions while working outdoors.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This is a drug testing position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Have the ability to apply knowledge of the basic rules, methods and procedures to perform simple and routine tasks associated with the work of the position. Be able to meet the public and assist hunters with directions and answer questions concerning overall outdoor recreation program as specified in the Tyndall Hunting, Fishing and General Regulations. Be 18 years of age. Prior experience operating a game check station and handling biological data is preferred, but not mandatory.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
