Duties
Writes ancillary tests standard operating procedures.
Review and revise standard operating procedure's for ancillary testing to ensure they meet standards.
Monitors new proficiency testing programs (internal and external surveys) for the department.
Maintain a comprehensive Decentralized Laboratories Program, which encompasses all ancillary testing sites.
Serves as the primary trainer and troubleshooter for all ancillary test sites.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
- This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- Prime Source Verification (PSV) may be required.
- This is an Inclement Weather Essential position. Incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing laboratory tests and examinations; 2) Experience preparing reports of findings and 3 ) Providing technical support work for required application of the methods and techniques for the position.
Education
