Duties
If selected for this position, you will serve as the Intelligence Specialist for the United States Attorney's Office (USAO). Typical work assignments will include:
Obtaining, coordinating, analyzing and disseminating information relating to detection and identification of terrorists and terrorist acts, and national security threats for prevention.
Coordinating intelligence community activities with the Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council and District Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council coordinator.
Sharing information and resources needed to detect and destroy terrorist networks and national security threats before they can act.
Providing professional guidance and technical assistance in the analysis of terrorism-related information.
Provide intelligence and analysis related to crime trends and patterns in the district.
Representing the USAO in dealings with outside intelligence organizations and law enforcement agencies.
Establishing and maintaining ongoing working relationships with a broad range of groups, businesses, agencies, and organization within the district's geographic area.
Developing or facilitating the development of specialized training.
Drafting investigative process to obtain evidence in national security cases; and
Keeping U.S. Attorney and Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council (ATAC) Coordinator actively informed of terrorism and intelligence issues affecting our districts.
Prepares and delivers presentations to various audiences on area of subject matter expertise, to include terrorism and other national security threats.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.

Qualifications
GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level as defined below.
Specialized Experience is defined as experience administering principles, techniques, and methodologies of intelligence research to conduct research and analysis activities; conducting functions related to national intelligence agencies and law enforcement communities; analyzing techniques and practices to develop and maintain working relationships with a variety of groups and organizations, and preparing a range of written products such as formal reports, information bullets and fact sheets.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in research, analysis, and evaluation of intelligence data and analytical products to assist senior managers.
- Experience briefing senior managers on counterintelligence issues affecting their areas of responsibility.
