ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Office of Health Services is seeking a Medical Administrator to direct the administrative management of medical services at NGA. The Medical Administrator will apply knowledge of the specialized principles and practices of health care management in order to develop, implement, and evaluate medical and occupational health policies, programs, and initiatives to deliver health and wellness services to the NGA workforce. They advise and guide others to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and federal and DoD policies regarding occupational health and medical services, the management of medical records and private health information, the use of automated medical record systems, and credentialing and accreditation requirements. They oversee medical clinic personnel and contracts, identify resource requirements, manage the medical services budget, and ensure that medical equipment is appropriately funded and operational. MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Online resumes must demonstrate qualification by providing specific examples and associated results, in response to the announcement's mandatory criteria specified in this vacancy announcement: 1. Demonstrated experience in resourcing and/or operating a Medical Clinic.2. Demonstrated experience in medical management concepts and/or methodology, and the ability to communicate ideas, concepts, methods, and/or analysis to make recommendations to organizational leadership.3. Demonstrated ability to develop systems to monitor and/or maintain standards of practice related to occupational health to include knowledge sufficient to update and/or modify medical records computer systems.4. Demonstrated strong customer service in two of the following areas: non-technical and/or technical writing, oral communications, planning and/or scheduling, problem identification and/or resolution, or ability to express facts and/or ideas in writing in a succinct and organized manner.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration, plus 5 years of progressively responsible administrative, clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education in any area listed in option A and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work as listed in option C. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of college work is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals to 9 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 9 years of progressively responsible administrative, clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and /or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following: Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement. Applicants must also possess: Management ability to delegate authority, evaluate and oversee people and programs, recognize and adapt to changing priorities; and Knowledge of the interrelationships and interdependencies among various medical and administrative services and programs.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Demonstrated experience in written and oral communications in order to prepare and present findings, recommend or carry out specific actions involving complex issues, and develop standard operating procedures and policies.2. Demonstrated understanding of organizational priorities and dependencies; ability to plan, assign, and monitor work to achieve desired outcomes. Adjust resource assignments (people, budget and material) to meet changing demands and innovate to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness.3. Demonstrated knowledge of COCOM and U.S. State Department rules, regulations and procedures concerning medical clearance for overseas assignments.4. Demonstrated knowledge of DoD occupational health programs, standards of best practice, applicable DoD requirements, and relevant OPM guidelines. 5. Medical board certification and/or Medical Administration graduate education.
