You will serve as a SHIP SYSTEM INSPECTOR in the QUALITY MANAGEMENT OFFICE of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will perform surveillance to ensure all facets of work performed meet government quality standards.
You will prepare written detailed discrepancy reports of instances of failure of government/contractor quality assurance/inspection processes.
You will witness critical evolutions and processes during the production phase to ensure proper tolerance and/or working criterion to specification requirements.
You will provide data/recommendations to the Quality Assurance Officer for Contractor Performance Evaluations (CPE) on all painting contracts administered.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position.
- The incumbent will be required to travel for Worldwide deployments and pass physical requirements to support SSGN overseas voyage repairs.
- The incumbent must qualify as a Quality Assurance Inspector and be able to retain that qualification.
- The incumbent must qualify as a NACE Level 1 or equivalent Coating System Inspector.
- The incumbent must pass a radiation physical and maintain radiation worker qualifications, if required.
- The incumbent must pass a JEAGER-1 eye exam.
- The incumbent must qualify as a man-lift operator.
- The incumbent may be required to pass PGA-R exam.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an IT-II designation.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

Ability to Inspect, such as:
Understand the Quality Assurance Inspection, receipt inspection, and Assurance Controlled Material Handling (CMH) methods/requirements per Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM).
Conduct Quality Assurance audits and surveillance in accordance with the Joint Maintenance Manual (JFMM).
Interpret technical material such as engineering instructions, specifications, drawings, technical manuals, blueprints, LAR's, and various other logistical data related to non-nuclear maintenance actions.
Understand the safety requirements and practices in accordance with Navy and TRIREFFAC Occupational Safety and Health policies.
Perform in-process review of controlled work package to ensure compliance with Controlled Work Package (CWP).
