About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Resource Management at Naval Medical Center, San Diego in California.

Duties

Coordinate the dissemination of information/communications within the San Diego Market to ensure Defense Health Agencies messages and information are effectively communicated. Provide input to multiple websites and oversee all social media platforms used by the San Diego Market. Coordinate with Defense Health Agency (DHA) public affairs leaders on the dissemination of critical information and communications services, plans, activities, community relations initiatives and products. Develop and coordinate communications plans with local subject matter experts to disseminate information to a wide range of audiences. Supervise a multi-disciplinary team of civilian employees engaged in public affairs functions including planning regular work assignments, identifying employee training needs, helping interview and select candidates, evaluating performance, etc.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening is required. Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
