The purpose of this position is to perform as a Billing & Accounts Receivable Manager for the administration of third party patient billing. This position is located in the Division of Administrative Services at the Little Shell Service Unit in Great Falls, Montana. The incumbent reports to the Health System Specialist. Duty location will be located in Great Falls, MT with telework eligible as determined by the agency policy.

Duties

Prepare and submit claims to third party payers, intermediaries or responsible parties. Research and follow up on rejected claims in order to ensure maximum reimbursement to the facility. Review and audit ICD-10, CPT, ADA and HCFA coding. Post checks received from the insurance companies to the RPMS accounts receivable package. Analyze, maintain and direct billing operations for third party programs.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-04: One (1) year of general experience AND/OR two (2) years above high school. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-05: One (1) year of specializes experience at least the GS-04 grade level AND/OR four (4) years above high school. Specialized Experience Examples: Review system generated reports daily to identify claims that are ready for billing. Correct any errors for all rejected/suspended claims previously submitted to third party payers, intermediaries and patients according to hospital policy and procedures. Document all activity performed on patient accounts in the patient financial folder such as date billed, and to whom. GS-06: One (1) year of specializes experience at least the GS-05 grade level. Specialized Experience Examples: Timely prepare and submit claims to third party payers, intermediaries and responsible parties according to established hospital policy and procedures. Maintain and control unbilled claims, including assigned section of patients receivables. Submit a daily billing productivity report reflecting the beginning inventory, claims billed and remaining balance. GS-07: One (1) year of specializes experience at least the GS-06 grade level. Specialized Experience Examples: Serve as an assistant to the Business Office Manager in the management and supervision of the RPMS automated and electronic billing/accounts receivable packages. Provide orientation to all new providers and staff by explaining requirements, methods, and procedures used with compliance. Coordinate benefits, third party billing, verification of data, claims processing and accounts receivable. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
