The primary purpose of this position is to as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), assist and support the administration and/or operation of the Air Force Aviation Resource Management System (ARMS) for the wing/group Operations Training function. Additionally, provides training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.
Duties
Assists scheduling section, determines from review of planning documents aircraft requirements in number of sorties and flying hours, aircraft load, training facilities, and coordinates requirements with affected agencies.
Assists in scheduling and dispatching aircrews, obtaining flight clearances, maintaining aircrew training records, compiling reports, and maintaining required publications for Flight Crew Information File (FCIF) and other required publications.
Inputs, updates, and retrieves aircrew data using Aviation Resource Management System (ARMS)
Maintains databases and extracts data for reports. Collects and consolidates combat readiness data from subordinate flying and non-flying units using Air Reserve Technician tool, Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) and ARMS.

- Position may require incumbent to Fly in military and/or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments
- Required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
- Position will require a background security investigation to determine suitability for employment and a Top-Secret security clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.

- Drug Test requirement was modified with AFI 90-508, Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program, 28 August 2014; Certified Current 18 December 2015, which supersedes AFI 44-107, 7 April 2010.
- Position is designated as Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
- As a mandatory requirement for employment, the incumbent is to refrain from the use of illegal drugs and if requested, submit to urinalysis testing. Appointee must sign a statement acknowledging the position occupied is a TDP
- Incentive for prior non-federal work experience or active-duty uniformed service for determining leave accrual rate is being offered.
- The incumbent may be required to work overtime to meet workload demands.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes managing aircrew training requirements, aviation service eligibility, aircrew rating system, aircrew incentive pay requirement, employee training requirements and weapons delivery assessment. Analyze and interpret directives/instructions covering assigned area and review records, identify errors, and determine and resolve problems. Utilize Aviation Resource Management System and aeromedical evacuation to structure retrievals, initiate data combination and manipulate requirements, and to provide recurring and demand processing reports.

EDUCATION: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of Aviation Resource Management System ARMS directives/instructions, policies, and procedures.
Knowledge of aircraft types and aircrew composition.
Knowledge of aircrew training requirements, aviation service eligibility, and aircrew training and incentive pay requirements.
Ability and skill to analyze and interpret data or directives covering assigned areas and to review records, identify errors, and determine and resolve problems.
Ability and skill to effectively communicate orally and in writing
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
