As a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION OFFICER you will be responsible for the following duties:

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GG-12 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Ability to prepare, and execute a coordinated emergency management response to prevent, protect from, mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters. Ability to collaborate and serve with, and contribute to various program coordinators relating to such programs as Emergency Management (EM), Safety, Continuity, Mission Assurance, Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection, and Law Enforcement Ability to interact in a professional and competent manner daily with individuals of executive-level responsibilities and authority and provide EM counsel. Ability to perform program analysis, evaluations, and reviews to ensure plans meet internal and external requirements. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: Emergency Management- Works with the organization to ensure the emergency planning process is completed appropriately. Ensures that local policy, procedures, and resources are available for emergency preparedness plans. Oral Communication- Expresses ideas and facts to individuals or groups effectively; makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others; facilitates an open exchange of ideas. Written Communication- Expresses facts and ideas in writing in a succinct and organized manner.
