You will serve as a SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST in the ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT of FLEET HRO NORFOLK.

Duties

You will recommend changes in administrative policies and develop and implement office procedures and practices to be used by support staff throughout the command. You will use expert judgment and skill in determining administrative requirements and ensuring command compliance with them. You will review work processes for administrative and support services to determine the need for new and/or revised local procedures to ensure adequate, standardized support of all FLTHRO branch offices and functions. You will maintain the Department's Administrative Guide, which contains standardized procedures for the command's administrative processes. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all FLTHRO procurement matters for FLTHRO staff, other government offices and commercial vendors. You will serve as a cardholder for the Government Commercial Purchase Card Program. You will develop organizational seat orders utilizing correct contract line item (CLIN). You will maintain and reconcile the organizations information technology inventory.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

To qualify for the SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST, GS-0342-11, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience serving as an Assistant Command Technical Representative (ACTR) for all matters relative to change-management, conversion, and transition for the Department of the Navy (DON) enterprise-wide Information Systems Network (i.e. Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI). Experience maintaining and reconciling the command's information technology (IT) which encompass enterprise task orders/invoices within required parameters and guidelines. Experience formulating annual budget requirements for the procurement of office equipment and centralized supplies sufficient to support multiple HRO offices. Experience providing advice and assistance relative to support services policies, programs and objectives in order to accomplish the command's mission. Experience coordinating maintenance and repair projects as necessary; monitoring and tracking major/minor maintenance and repair projects from inception to completion. In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
