The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the primary point of contact to direct leadership for administrative support programs to include but not limited to task management, cybersecurity, travel card program, travel system, drug demand reduction program, health care program, fitness program, safety program, security program, supply program, and unit recognition program.

Duties

Assist director in the management of all administrative support program functions and serve as the primary source of information. Ensure program compliance with regulations, laws, policies, and directives. Assist leadership in the performance of administrative functions associated with employees supervision. Develop, establish, update, and maintain office procedures and records/files of various types to ensure effective and efficient operation of the office. Disseminate information pertaining to new or changed procedures, administrative policies, or regulations.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • Work may require some walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items.
  • This posn is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program

  • Travel and relocation expenses will not be paid

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for 0303 Series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience which may have been gained while assisting with administrative support programs to include, but not limited to task management, cybersecurity, travel card program, travel system, drug demand reduction program, health program, and unit recognition program. OR EDUCATION: Successful completion of one full year of graduate education in a field related to the position being filled. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. Skill in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems. Ability to gather, analyze and present facts, communicate effectively, using tact and courtesy and possess the ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. Ability to plan and organize management programs and functions of an organization. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
