This position reports directly to the Supervisor, Mobility Manager and serves as a Transportation Coordinator at the facility level and acts as primary contact to Veterans for transportation needs. The three major areas of responsibility are: (1) Scheduling, Data Collection, & Tracking Support; (2) Consult Management responsibilities; and (3) Program Support responsibilities.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information in support of the Service.
Analyzing data and generating reports.
Reviewing documents, reports and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies and ensure data entry is complete and accurate.
Planning consult processing flow to ensure veterans receive services in a timely manner by using VISTA, CPRS, or SharePoint Consult/Request Tracking System.
Planning and directing programs that provide support service functions.
Validating program workload and ensuring reporting is accurate.
Coordinating the day-to-day operation of VTS program flow, processes, and functions.
Provides technical and management guidance to achieve the optimum use of service resources.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., subject to change based on the needs of the facility.

This position is covered by AFGE bargaining unit. Per the AFGE Master Agreement, the Area of Consideration will be: 1st Area of Consideration - current permanent Alexandria VA Medical Center employees including satellites; 2nd Area of Consideration - current permanent Veterans Healthcare Administration employees.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/15/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Specialized Experience:
Experience providing customer service and administrative support such as being the first point of contact and routing information and calls to the appropriate person or entity.
Experience processing and reviewing documents. That may include billing information, administrative records or various requests for completeness and accuracy.
Experience utilizing electronic systems to gather, review, input, update, access, organize, process, and to maintain information for use in various reports and scheduling.
Reading, applying, and adhering to facility directives, regulations, and procedures.

Physical Requirements: Incumbent will be exposed to stressful working situations that require a professional attitude and collective reasoning. The incumbent is subject to a high volume of work, the need for accuracy, frequency of interruptions and ever changing demands due to program changes.
