The Program Support Assistant provides administrative support and expertise in a variety of essential administrative and management requirements for Engineering Service; to include Planning & Analysis Section, Building Maintenance Unit and Operations Section.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Coordinate miscellaneous projects activities with offices and business operations external to the specific project.
Prepare procedural and administrative notices or instructions, as directed by supervisor.
Use keyboard based multi-user system ancillary equipment (CPU, Monitor, Fax machine, Laser printer, photocopy machine, scanner etc.) to accomplish a variety of office support assignments.
Prepare and edit a variety of documents and correspondence from rough draft or handwritten copies.
Review outgoing correspondence for procedural/grammatical accuracy, correctness, adequacy and compliance with existing policies and/or procedures and ensures all enclosures are attached.
Serve as the official time and attendance representative, maintain/post time card entries, ensure accurate and proper tour posting, verify leave use, transmit time and attendance documents and maintains time and attendance records and files.
Maintain Competency Binders and Performance Appraisals assigned to this position.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Physical Requirements: Work is essentially sedentary, however, requires some walking, standing, bending and carrying light items such as books, papers and files.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
GS-05 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Type final copy ready brochures, letters, memos, policies, charts, graphs. Timekeeping, recordkeeping, inventory control, work schedules, work orders, ordering equipment and supplies. Prepares travel and training documents, statistical data. Basic knowledge of illustration and photography, and audiovisual equipment. Schedule meetings and appointments, set up conference room, initiates replies to routine correspondence, receives incoming telephone calls and mail.

Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4 years above high school

Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year).
