As a Building Manager, you will provide leadership, technical guidance, general administration, and policy direction for real property management operations and maintenance.Location of position: Public Building Services, Upstate New York Field Office, in Albany, Buffalo, Champlain, or Syracuse, NY. We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.

Duties

This position has job functions that must be executed within specific geographic locations. The official duty station is a federal facility, leased space, or an alternative worksite (typically the employee’s home) within the specified geographic area. If you are selected for this position you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within 45 days. At that time, you may be eligible to request to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agency’s telework policy.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
  • Meet all eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date.
  • Meet time-in-grade within 30 days of the closing date, if applicable
  • Register with the Selective Service if you are a male born after 12/31/1959

Qualifications

For a brief video on creating a Federal resume, click here.  The GS-14 salary range starts at $116,393 per year.   To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is experience in: management of groups of office buildings or large apartment building complexes (including negotiating lease provisions, managing the use and upkeep of facilities, supervising maintenance staffs, negotiating and monitoring building repairs and service contracts, and tenant relations; planning and development of comprehensive standard maintenance programs and procedures for various types of buildings (including setting standard operating procedures, developing preventive maintenance programs, and planning for optimum use of space in terms of the kinds of facilities and occupant needs); or supervision or monitoring of construction of apartment, hotel, office, or similar buildings (including inspecting proposed plans to assure inclusion of necessary appointments and facilities, monitoring the work in progress for conformance with construction plans, and inspection of completed projects for acceptability. Experience must have also equipped the candidate with the particular knowledges, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
