Duties

You will dismantle, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, reassemble, and test a wide range of industrial dry dock equipment and machinery. You will remove, repair, install and align reducing valves, safety valves, stop valves, sluice valve guides and discs, pumps. You will disassemble, repair, and rebuild component parts of general industrial plant machinery and equipment including pumps and sluice gates. You will dismantle, move and relocate various types of industrial plant machinery and equipment, and install new machinery and equipment when needed. You will perform periodic preventive maintenance requiring the dismantling, cleaning, locking out and tagging out, operating, and reassembling of various industrial dock equipment and machinery. You will perform security watch inspections to ensure continuous operation of flood alarms and automatic dewatering equipment. You will operate equipment used to flood and dewater graving docks as part of docking and undocking evolutions.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You must be able to work various work shifts, individually or as part of a team under minimal supervision.
