You will serve as a EMERGENCY SERVICES DISPATCHER in the Security Battalion Consolidated Emergency Communications Center of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
Duties
You will receive, evaluate and respond to all emergency alarms for fire, medical emergencies, hazardous material spills, police services and other related emergency incident calls.
You will prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls, determine the appropriate jurisdiction and services available and transfer callers to other agencies when appropriate.
You will ensure appropriate personnel and equipment are dispatched to the scene in an expedient manner.
You will provide liaison assistance between medical, fire, police and other agency personnel to coordinate joint responses.
You will maintain various written and computerized logs to record events of the shift.
You will assist in training new dispatchers, providing on-the-job- training to include Dispatch Center functions, operations and capabilities.
You will use a dispatch communication software program to dispatch emergency resources.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a HAZARDOUS MATERIAL AWARENESS certification by the Department of Defense (DoD), International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or ProBoard within one year of employ
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an Emergency Medical Dispatch certification within one year of employment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a Public Safety Telecommunicator DCJS Dispatcher Basic certification within one year of employment
- You will be required to obtain and maintain National Incident Management System (NIMS) 100, 200, 700, 800 certification within one year of employment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R.) certification within one year of employment.
Qualifications
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Screening incoming communications and prioritizing emergency/non-emergency calls and situations; 2) Maintaining security/personnel records via Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system; and 3) Performing a wide range of dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls using various type of communications (e.g., telephone, mobile radio or automatic alarms.
