This position is located within the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (OCEO), Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). This is a part-time position not-to-exceed 32 hours per week. MCC uses a pay banded system to compensate employees. This position is pay band 5 which is generally equal to GS-5.

Duties

As a student intern, the incumbent will report directly to MCC's Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) and will assist with duties to support the diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) Council and strategy. Duties include but are not limited to: Assisting with developing and managing tracking and reporting tools to monitor progress ( i.e., post workforce data and reports). Developing presentations, drafting remarks and talking points, and creating data visualization tools for meetings, events, marketing material, and fliers. Entering data into the DEIA dashboard/progress tracker; Updating departmental action plans; and website content management. Preparing and tracking internal and external correspondence. Scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and scribing meeting notes; Performing workforce analysis and data visualization. Preparing promotional materials for events with minimal graphic design. Serving as the liaison with human resources staff, DEIA) council members, and others, as necessary, to obtain critical input. Creating timely analytics reports for DEIA. Performing related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
  • Relocation expenses will not be paid

  • Some domestic and international travel may be required
  • You must be in good academic standing (you must not be on academic probation).
  • This is a part-time position not-to-exceed 32 hours per week.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this internship position, the following requirements must be met: Selective Placement Factor (Screen out): Experience developing and using progress tracking and reporting tools. (Applicants who do not meet this requirement will not receive further consideration). In order to be considered qualified for this position you must also meet one of the following qualification requirements (education, experience, or a combination of education and experience. (NOTE: If you are completing your education at the end of the semester AND do not plan to continue your education, you are not eligible for this position). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants may also qualify based on having one year of specialized experience performing administrative support work. Examples of specialized experience include, but are not limited to: performing administrative support assignments such as: developing presentations, drafting remarks and talking points; creating data visualization tools for events, marketing material, and fliers; developing and managing tracking and reporting tools; drafting documents, such as project summaries, status reports, memos, briefing papers, presentations, and meeting minutes; acting as liaison with individuals and groups both inside and outside an organization to coordinate activities. OR To qualify based on education applicants must have completed 4 academic years of post-high school study leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree. OR Applicants may qualify based on having a combination of qualifying specialized experience and education as described above to qualify at the Pay band 5 level. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit may be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. To receive credit you must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours worked per week. Salary may be set from the minimum to the midpoint of the salary range of the pay band. In some instances, based on a selectee's extensive experience directly related to the position, salary may be set at or above the mid-point up to the maximum salary for that pay band.
