About the Position: Serves as personal administrative assistant and office manager to the Commandant, U.S. Army Quartermaster School. The Quartermaster School consists of eight operating directorates with a staff of approximately 160 DA civilians, 800 military and 340 contract support personnel.
Duties
Manage wide variety of administrative programs necessary for day-to-day operations.
Advise office automation clerks, secretaries, administrative assistants in subordinate and peer organizations on all administrative matters.
Make and coordinate all travel arrangements for the Command Group utilizing the Defense Travel System (DTS), to include scheduling, itinerary details, reservations, preparation of travel vouchers and other related correspondence.
Assess, route, or otherwise handle incoming and outgoing materials such as controlled or routine correspondence, reports, memorandum, and other forms of written communication.
Prepare substantive correspondence, speeches, briefings, and other external communications.
Receive and screen incoming email, phone calls and written correspondence.
Execute programs such as DoD Performance Management and Appraisal Program (DPMAP), ACCESS (USBANK) for Government travel card, General Fund Enterprise Business Systems (GFEBS), and The Automated Time Attendance and Production System (ATAAPS).

- The incumbent for this position must obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
- The incumbent must be available for on-call and/or short notice duty requirements.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience providing administrative support such as office management, receiving telephone calls, preparing and/or reviewing correspondences such as, letters, memorandums, reports, and/or briefings, scheduling meetings, maintaining staff calendars, and planning travel arrangements; utilizing office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Public Administration, Business Administration or Business Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
