These positions are located in various Field Offices within the Chicago Region, Kansas City Region, and the San Francisco Region within the Division of Risk Management Supervision of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and serves as a key management representative and recognized technical authority responsible for planning and directing the supervisory efforts of one of the nation's largest and most complex financial institutions.
Duties
Conducts bank supervision and examination functions, with a view toward assessing risk, as well as strengthening and improving the condition of the assigned organization, as appropriate.
Maintains an informed position on the assigned organization and analyzes financial or other information filed or reported in accordance with regulatory requirements or from other sources.
Assists with ongoing analysis and evaluation of the financial condition, business initiatives, and future prospects of the assigned organization and its affiliates to assess the potential risk to the Deposit Insurance Fund.
Performs activities related to the review, analysis, and preparation of reports of examination, supervisory correspondence, applications, investigations, and other duties of an administrative nature involving the assigned organization.
Prepares written reports summarizing the results of analyses, and communicating findings, recommendations, and related supervisory action.
As assigned, initiates, conducts, or acts as lead in conferences or meetings with other supervisory agencies and bank officials.
Maintains cooperative relationships with the appropriate state, Federal, and international supervisory agencies.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience examining a financial institution's safety, soundness, and risk posed to the Deposit Insurance Fund.
