Click on "Learn more about this agency" button below for IMPORTANT additional information. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Prevention Coordination Specialist at the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group.

Duties

DUTY 1: Leads management, implementation and delivery of research-based activities related to primary prevention of Interpersonal and Self-Directed Violence (ISDV) with the intent to stimulate change in knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and behaviors in general and target populations. DUTY 2: Uses professional knowledge to lead 480 ISRG prevention training team efforts to include all mandatory integrated prevention and resilience training as required by DoD, DAF, MAJCOM/Field Command and 480 ISRG leadership. DUTY 3: Community Action Team member directly supporting execution of established initiatives and development of the 480 ISRG Community Action Plan (CAP). DUTY 4: Develop and deliver effective primary prevention and resilience strategic communication and marketing that drives healthy and positive cultural norms leading to a resilient Total Force and families. DUTY 5: Accomplishes professional development and maintains technical proficiency.

Requirements

  • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

  • The incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays to include overtime and workload demands. Duty location may be split between multiple work centers to facilitate information flow.

  • This position is in the excepted service authorized by Title 10 U.S.C. and covered by the Defense Civilian Intelligence Management System (DCIPS). The employee must also sign a Statement of Understanding prior to occupying a DCIPS position.
  • Must obtain, maintain, and renew credentialing as required by the DoD Board of Prevention Credentialing specified in DoD and DAF policy.
  • Incumbent must meet screening/suitability criteria listed in DAF and DOD guidance.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • Incumbent may be subject to psychological screening/ polygraph testing as an inherent primary requirement of their position.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions. This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. or Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. or Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. NOTE: IF YOU ARE QUALIFYING BASED UPON EDUCATION, YOU MUST PROVIDE A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: 1) Applying knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies as well as behavioral, social science and/or public health practices principles and theories relating to prevention and resilience. 2) Providing knowledge of a wide range of delivery systems relating to prevention and resilience and the multiple uses of such systems. 3) Using knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. 4) Providing in-depth knowledge of military culture, military family dynamics, and the unique challenges military families face. 5) Working well in a team approach and effectively lead and chair committees, working groups, and teams. 6) Communicating effectively, orally and in writing. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Comprehensive and professional knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies as well as behavioral, social science and/or public health practices principles and theories relating to prevention and resilience. 2. Thorough knowledge of a wide range of delivery systems relating to prevention and resilience and the multiple uses of such systems. 3. In-depth knowledge of DAF culture, military family dynamics, related professional fields, and a thorough knowledge of the DAF community and the unique challenges that DAF families face; or equivalent knowledge. 4. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. 5. Ability to effectively lead and chair committees, working groups, and teams. 6. Ability to work well with others in a team approach and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
