These positions are located in the Pacific Northwest Region, Region 6 in the Supervisor's Office on the Umpqua National Forest in Roseburg, OR.
The position serves as a Logistics Dispatcher and provides a wide range of dispatch, logistical, and administrative support functions.

Duties
Duties listed are at the full performance level.
Assist in performing and directing others in daily check-in/check-out tracking of resources to ensure that resource safety is provide for and that personnel return to their duty station at the end of a work shift.
Maintain resource status and tracking systems and operate telecommunications systems.
Assist in processing resource order requests for personnel, equipment, supplies, and/or aircraft for all types of incidents, and coordinate with other dispatch organizations on mobilization, reassignment, and demobilization of resources.
Record and maintain communications logs involving all telephone and two-way radio transmissions.
Input data into dispatch computer applications (e.g., incident qualification records, fire reporting systems, and automated dispatch systems).
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service or exempt.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications

General Experience Requirement:
For the GS-4 level: You must have one year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work which provided the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position being filled. Examples of general experience includes: Performed office work such as answering telephone calls, filing, typing, checking e-mails, opening mail, routing mail, making copies and scheduling meetings; used common office machines or equipment such as personal computers, copying machines, and fax machines;
OR
An associate's degree or two years of successfully completed education above high school;
OR
Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
