The Technology Partnerships Office (TPO) serves our NIST customers by leading technology transfer processes that NIST researchers use to develop innovations from concept to practical application. Duties

Independently handle of all areas of Intellectual Property docketing and complex patent filing procedures with the USPTO Prepares complex prosecution documents and filings tailored to specific cases Review and analyze Patent and Trademark processes, providing strategic recommendations for improvements Perform critical analyses of Patent and Trademark records, providing key insights that inform decision-making, directly contribute to the accomplishment of legal department goals, and increase the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organizational unit

Qualifications

In order to qualify, all applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 (ZA-II at NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as: Demonstrated experience in independently managing and submitting patent applications (US & Foreign) Preparing complex prosecution documents and filings for individual patent and foreign cases Coordinating with legal and technical teams to enhance efficiency in docketing and patent filing procedures Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
