Employee will serve as an Information Receptionist located at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI.
Duties
***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION***
Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Greets patients, family members, and guests via in-person and via telephone in a pleasant and courteous manner. Asks pertinent questions tactfully and providing clear information and directions.
Places calls to services in the hospital to communicate with staff to coordinate acceptance of visitors, to call for support services, to clarify appointments and other patient needs.
Assists with physical transportation of patients to clinic appointments within the hospital.
Issues visitor passes and facilitate in the record-keeping of visitor logs.
Manages the front door primarily but may be deployed to support other areas where screening/monitoring is conducted.
Performs basic wipe down of high touch surfaces and stocks work area with supplies.
Able to comprehend and follow emergency procedures and to call hospital code situations appropriately and effectively.
Performs other duties as necessary.
Work Schedule: Tour of duty for both Full-Time and Part-Time positions include varied hours between 5:30am - 8:00pm, with rotating weekends. Part-Time hours per week worked and available schedules will be discussed during interview.
NOTE: The salary listed represents full-time employment and will be pro-rated based on the actual number of hours worked each pay-period. Likewise, benefits and time-off accrual will also be prorated and based on your part-time work schedule.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE: Requires Six (6) months of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. -OR-
EDUCATION (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED):Successfully completed one year of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. -OR-
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of 6 months) combined with experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work requires prolonged periods of time standing, walking along with patients, their families, and visitors, and sitting at a computer for extended periods of time. May be required to push a wheelchair, bend, or kneel to obtain information or assist patients, and to carry light objects such as files, clipboards, medical records, etc.
