You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST in the LOGISTICS, FLEET SUPPLY AND ORDNANCE DIVISION of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET.

Duties

You will act as the principal transportation coordinator for regional operational logistics requirements, including personnel, material, and ammunition, in support of all PACFLT ships, squadrons, and bases. You will develop and present transportation plans in support of Navy and Joint operations, exercise, contingencies, and OPLANs involving PACFLT ships, squadrons, and bases. You will act as lead advisor to the Transportation and Mobility Cell lead and others on all matters related to transportation operations, including strategy, plans, policies, procedures, and status of ongoing operations. You will work across DoD and Inter-Agency stakeholders to coordinate expedited transportation of urgent requirements, to include all aspects of planning and execution. You will use master files and source data from Joint Operation Planning Execution System (JOPES) and Time-Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDD) lists in analysis, simulations, planning, scheduling, and stock positioning. You will also use master files and source data from Joint Operation Planning Execution System (JOPES) and Time-Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDD) lists in the movement of forces in support of PACFLT ships, squadrons, and bases.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning or developing a sustainment program (e.g. operations, mobility) related to transportation operations in support of ship and shore activities, to include using automated systems and data lists, for example, Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES) and Time Phased Force Deployment Data lists, ensuring compliance with transportation policies and procedures.
