About the Position: Receives general supervision from the Training Management Division Chief, Training Management Office, who: (1) makes assignments in terms of objectives to be achieved; (2) reviews work performance for general adequacy, accomplishment of objectives, effectiveness of results achieved, compliance with policy and requirements, and soundness of judgment exercised in recommendations and decisions made.
Duties
Input correct student data into automated records system in a timely manner.
Prepare variety of correspondences such as, diplomas, certificates, graduate rosters, transcripts, and reports.
Enter information to create and submit Academic Evaluation Reports.
Contact training departments when criteria other than academic is designated for verification of successful completion of the course.
Receive telephonic request from activities for information in original or extracted form.
Establish a suspense class work folder for each class reporting.
Retain academic records for transfer as permanent history files.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience utilizing automated systems to perform a variety of administrative tasks such as, input and retrieve data, create diplomas, commendation letters and certificates, audit reports and transcripts; maintain student rosters, receive, research, prepare and validate a variety of correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university courses.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
