This position is in the Office of Support Operations (OSO), Office of Records Management Services (ORMS) located in Washington, DC.
If selected, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for ensuring that the SEC remains in compliance with federal laws regarding records creation, maintenance, and disposition.

Typical Duties:
Administers the organization's Records and Information Management (RIM) program to align with the agency's business and mission needs;
Modernizes records management functions by managing the transition of agency paper records to electronic records;
Coordinates the proper disposition of records consistent with Government-wide policies and procedures;
Organizes records and information based on agency lines of business, and developing plans for logical filing structures, information access and training;
Develops and conducts periodic RIM quality control reviews, compliance audits, risk assessments and surveys to measure the effectiveness of electronic systems and for general program improvement purposes;
Provides policy and governance on the use of records management tools to ensure best practices and agency compliance with Federal statutes;

Qualifications
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-in-grade for this announcement is one year at the GS/SK-11 level for the grade 12 level.
Time-in-grade for this announcement is one year at the GS/SK-12 level for the grade 13 level.
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
SK-12: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-11 level: 1) analyzing problems and issues relating to records management systems; and 2) assisting with formulating new records management policies or recommending changes to existing records management policies or procedures.
SK-13: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-12 level: 1) leading enterprise-wide records and information management transformation and modernization initiatives; 2) working with Information Technology in relation to the management of agency records; 3) developing automated retention/disposition and auto-categorization taxonomies; 4) creating and delivering information management training to a variety of audiences; and 5) experience with archival and/or information science.
*Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Certified Archivist (CA), Certified Records Manager (CRM), or other related professional degree or certification is preferred for this position.
