About the Position: This position serves as an Administrative Support Assistant responsible for providing administrative, clerical, and office automation support to the Administrative Officer and administrative staff and provides technical and procedural support to the management and project personnel on administrative matters.

Duties

Assists with administrative programs and policies, and is responsible for a variety of actions which require fact-finding, coordination, recommendations, implementation, and follow-up. Plans, coordinates, analyzes, directs, and evaluates administrative missions and operations including procurement actions. Clarifies new administrative procedures, and provides guidance to personnel. Assists in identifying personnel requirements, resources, and services needed to support the mission.

At the GS-09: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes knowledge of civilian personnel management to include policies and procedures on recruitment, position management, employee compensation, performance evaluation - AND - the ability to use a variety of software to include word processing, spreadsheets, database, graphics, and accounting software - AND - the ability to research and gather data for special reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). -OR- Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Administration Management, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Finance Management. -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementOrganizational AwarenessPersonnel and Human ResourcesSelf-Management Time in Grade Requirement at the GS-09: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
