You will serve as a DEPUTY FACILITIES MANAGER in the Public Works Branch of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

Duties

You will be accountable for all management aspects of the operation, maintenance and repair of utility systems, roads, grounds, and real property facilities for a large multi-mission installation. You will be responsible for construction projects, surfaced area maintenance, traffic signals and controls, street lighting, road maintenance, numerous bridges, water crossings, etc. You will plan and schedule work assignments on a long range basis, project budget estimates and other resource needs, allocate resources within the section, determine program goals and develop plans. You will coordinate work between staff sections employing numerous trades and skills to react to emergencies, unforeseen developments and MCBQ command priorities. You will plan and assign work to subordinates based on priorities.

  • This is a mission essential position. The incumbent may also be instructed to work during non-duty hours and may be assigned duties other than those identified in this position description.
  • The employee is required to train and/or guide lower graded employees in performance of duties.
  • Emergency overtime may be required.
  • Must be able to safely and properly wear all personal protective equipment including respiratory protection (respirator).
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Must complete a Financial Disclosure Form (OGE450).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: overseeing all management aspects of the operation, maintenance and repair of utility systems, roads, grounds and real property facilities for a large instillation and plans and schedules work assignments, projects budget estimates, determines program goals and develops plans.
