This position serves as a support position to Administrative Officer, and provides recommendations on administrative issues related to healthcare delivery and implementation of Surgical Services clinical programs, the incumbent assists with issues related to budget, space and equipment. The primary duties of the position are to assist the Administrative Officer to provide supply, equipment, and budget administrative for Surgical Services.

Accepts and supports the mission, vision, and values of the medical center and performs assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, outstanding customer service, and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the veteran.
Responsible for providing technical expertise in the field of healthcare planning and advice and assistance to ACOS Operative Care regarding the possible need for revision of regulations and policies governing planning activities.
Responsible for development, control and overall administration of budget for all Operative Care/ Surgical Services control points. Incumbent represents management at labor management meetings, provides information, resolves conflicts, and/or problems that may arise and assures management officials are familiar with the negotiated agreement.
Hears and resolves serious complaints and reports findings to top management
Responsible for collecting, compiling and/or tracking statistical information and preparing complex data reports related to the administrative, clinical, and technical aspects of our operative program and subspecialties program that. include research, congressional, and national responses for Operative Care/Surgical services.
Provides general clerical public contact support services such as answering the telephone, referring visitors, or providing information about the office, its functions, and standard operating procedures1 as well as similar information.
Screens calls and personally answers calls when the requested information concerns routine and procedural requirements.
Screens the supervisor arid staff member calls and determines if the call requires their attention.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/15/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Complies with all directives and special requirements in preparing annual and cyclic budget documents, monitors annual execution, making necessary adjustments.?

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, but may require some walking, bending, stooping, standing,
stretching and carrying objects such as files/binders. Work also requires spending time performing keyboarding duties, bending and lifting(no more than 25 pounds) may be required in the performance of logistical duties. Normal safety precautions and practices are required for working in a healthcare environment. This position requires organization and multi-tasking. Other physical demands include reaching, bending, stretching, walking, and carrying some supplies.
