About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

Setup and operate oxygen-acetylene metallizing equipment and plasma-arc spray equipment to build up and provide a physical bonding and coating to aircraft finished hardware component surfaces with thermal, erosion, or corrosion barriers. Perform operator maintenance and minor repair of metallizing spray equipment. Check parts before, during, and after the metal buildup phase, visually inspecting to determine an adequacy of the operations being performed. Clean items as necessary and mask prescribed areas for over-spray.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Metallizing Equipment Operator without more than normal supervision. Resumes will be reviewed for experience and/or training which provided skill with the Use of micrometers, instructions and specifications, and use of precision measuring tools such as inside/outside vernier calipers and go/no-go gauges to measure build up on aircraft parts.- Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: Prolonged standing and walking on cement floors. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment. Working Conditions: Works inside in shop area, usually under considerably noisy conditions requiring the wearing of earmuffs or protectors while operating spray guns. Danger of severe burn and electrical shock. Subject to possible injury from moving machinery in spray booths. Exposed to skin reaction and irritation in the handing of materials used in the spraying process. Subject to discomfort from heat and the use of arc-proof face shield or mask. Working conditions have been considered in the evaluation of this job.
