You will serve as a HEALTH EDUCATOR in the Marine Corps Community Services Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR.

Duties

You will coordinate and promote a wide range of health education services and programs. You will review and evaluate educational materials that are relevant and appropriateness to the incumbent's target groups. You will analyze results and provide recommendations for improvements. You will use motivational interviewing and coaching as method for behavioral changes resulting in patron buy-in. You will provide group and on-on-one health education services to active duty, their families, reservists, retirees and DOD employees.

• You will be required to complete the following certifications within 3 months of hire: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid.
• You will be required to complete Tobacco Cessation Specialist Training within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector professional Health Educator coordinating and promoting health education services, conducting assessments and analyzing results, providing recommendations for personal improvement and planning human performance activities.
