About the Position: The work is primarily performed in an office-like setting involving everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Located in office 1BH05E, Logistics Equipment Management Branch. Work hours are 0730-1600. The work is characterized by the depth of analysis involved in resolving problems or issues, and/or the impact on supply support programs that extend beyond local operations.

Duties

Serve as Supply Inventory Manager for the Medical Treatment Facility and other satellite clinics to purchase supplies and equipment for organization. Oversee all supply transactions for Medical Treatment Facility. Implement procedures for maintenance of property records. Manage property accountability for the Medical Treatment Facility and outside clinics. Accountable for all non-expendable equipment funded by internal and external program. Initiate action for physical count inventories for change of hand receipt holder. Review supply trends to minimize loss of inventory. Compile data from internal and external sources to prepare supply reports. Analyze supply operational reports to identify trends.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position may require the incumbent to complete a one-year supervisory probationary period.
  • This position is eligible for situational telework pending approval by management.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
  • Temporary duty travel (TDY) of 5 % may be required.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position has been designated Weather Essential. In the event of inclement weather conditions, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: analyzing supply operations to determine proper application of improved supply methods; scheduling actions for physical count inventories for change of hand receipt holders; assisting with the development of supply regulations, and program guidance; utilizing automated systems to enter and retrieve data for reports; and distributing workload among subordinate employees withing an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics or Supply Chain Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Data Collection and AnalysisInventory ManagementSupply Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
