This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-11 and GS-12. You will serve as the Command Protocol Officer in the Corporate Operations Department, Public & Congressional Affairs Division, Communications & Community Relations Branch (Code 1031) of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport.

Duties

You will coordinate, plan, and assist in all aspects of distinguished visitor tours, high visibility events, and special command ceremonies. You will plan, organize, and execute special events. You will arrange, coordinate, and conduct base tours. You will interact with appropriate departmental leadership to develop agendas that meet visitors' needs and requests. You will draft proposed agendas for leadership approval. You will disseminate agendas/tour information to appropriate distribution lists. You will maintain official command distribution lists of visitors, stakeholders, and customers. You will brief command leadership on proposed agendas and tours for visitors.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-3 pay band (GS-9 and GS-10 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate and conduct special events or tours for an organization. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

• A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
• Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
• An LL.M., if related to the position being filled; OR
• A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
