About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS), Airfield Division, Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah Georgia
This is a Term position scheduled to last 4 years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of eight years depending upon the needs of management.
RECRUITMENT AND/OR RELOCATION INCENTIVE OF $5,000 MAY BE AUTHORIZED. SUBJECT TO APPROVAL, A TWO-YEAR SERVICE AGREEMENT WILL BE REQUIRED.
Duties
Perform parking, ground handling and servicing to various types of aircraft.
Serve as the Materials Handler and International Standard Organization Container Handler for the Departure Arrival Airfield Control Group.
Utilize forklift and 25K Loader equipment to provide support to the organization.
Operate and maintain assigned equipment and grounds.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- The incumbent must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug testing.
- The incumbent must successfully pass a pre-employment and annual physical.
- The incumbent must possess and maintain a valid driver license.
- The incumbent must obtain and maintain a flight line driver license within six months of entering into the position.
- The incumbent must obtain and maintain a forklift license within six months of entering into the position.
- The incumbent may be required to travel (TDY) up to 5% of the times.
- The incumbent may be required to work rotating shifts.
- The incumbent may be required to work on weekend and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an AIRCRAFT ATTENDANT (MVO) without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common duties such as inspect runways, taxiways, and aircraft parking areas for potential foreign object damage (FOD) and damage of pavement areas, signs, runway and taxiway lights. I can perform repaints parking spots, grounding points, static ground connection decals and install protective measures on parked aircraft. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Works on stands and in hard to reach places. Incumbent is required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, and work in tiring positions. Incumbent is required to wear appropriate safety equipment and clothing in the performance of assigned tasks, and to observe applicable safety regulations. Incumbent is frequently required to lift equipment, parts, etc., that weighs up to 75 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Incumbent is required to work inside and outside. Inside work is done in drafty, noisy areas, and fumes are usually present. Outside work is done in occasional bad weather. Incumbent works in dirty, dusty, and greasy areas; in close proximity of moving propellers and danger from fumes, fire, and falling objects. There is also frequent exposure to the possibility of cuts, burns, shocks, strains, and broken bones.
