These position are located in Refugee, Asylum, and International Operations Directorate, International and Refugee Affairs Division (IRAD), Refugee and International Operations (RIO) District, Refugee Operations and International Operations field units. As a Supervisory Adjudication Officer (Director, Refugee Operations/Director, International Operations), you will be responsible for oversight and direction of all day-to-day activities of RIO Refugee Operations or International Operations.

Duties

Oversee the operations of an office that handles the complex and sensitive adjudication of applications, petitions, and requests for other immigration benefits related to refugee and international operations. Coordinate the prevention and deterrence of fraud, criminal, and national security risks in the administration of USCIS immigration benefit programs, pursuant to the Agency's Fraud Detection and National Security (FDNS) Program. Ensure that all activities performed by the office meet legal, administrative, and quality standards and goals established by USCIS. Establish and execute the yearly budget and work plans of the office to meet anticipated and established goals and objectives. Serve as a policy expert who analyzes, applies, and explains new or amended legislation, regulations or policy covering immigration programs, activities, or functions for which the organization has responsibility and recognize the potential impact. Represent USCIS when independently collaborating with crucial governmental and non-governmental stakeholders.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 09/14/2023. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 09/14/2023. GS-15: You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Developing policy or operational guidance for the provision of refugee, asylum or immigration benefit services; Managing or providing technical direction to staff who review or process immigration-related applications and petitions (e.g., citizenship applications, parole requests, family- and employment-based petitions, and applications for asylum or refugee status); Overseeing a wide range of human resources and administrative functions to accomplish short-term and long-term goals; Assessing the productivity, effectiveness and efficiency of refugee, asylum or immigration program operations.
