DUTIES:
Lead, oversee, and enable integrated project team(s) realization of increasing timely delivery of relevant products, strengthening partnerships, and optimizing methods/resources.
Define, integrate, and implement the efforts to optimize delivery of full spectrum nuclear mission survivability and nuclear weapon effect analyses that are critical to the SPO/warfighter success.
Partner with DoD, DOE, and industry stakeholders within the operational, sustainment, and acquisition communities to prioritize requirements and define weapon system capability in a nuclear effects environment.
Technically direct contractors to develop and mature nuclear effects modeling and simulation, testing and analyses, conduct program reviews to evaluate and approve proposed design and test results.
Manage efforts to develop technical requirements, test strategies, and oversee the technical performance of a contractor delivered program capability.
Resolve technical issues that rise to the Branch level and ensure technical collaboration across the branch and stakeholders.
Collaborate with teams and leadership to provide informational presentations-based testing and analyses.
Conduct technical review of all official Branch products and efforts.
SKILLS:
Experience leading working groups or teams, setting clear mission objectives, and providing feedback to team members.
Strong background in modeling and simulation tool development and maintenance.
Strong understanding of nuclear weapons effects environments (thermal, radiation, blast, and overpressure).
Experience in executing lab-scale and full-scale testing along with the ability to develop test plans as well as gather/assemble/analyze and interpret the test data to provide results to decision-makers.

- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
- Supervisory requirements may be required depending upon the position being filled.

- Employee will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Engineering and Technical Management
?Practitioner? certification category within required timeframe after appointment.
- In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee may be required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
- Incumbent must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. An advanced degree and completion of Intermediate or Senior Developmental Education (IDE/SDE) are highly desirable.
- Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall.
- Incumbent may be required to report to work during base exercises, contingencies, or emergency situations and overtime/comp time/credit hours may be required to accomplish assigned duties.
- Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) certification and meet APDP continuing education requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of advanced multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, and techniques to apply experimental theories and new developments to problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted methods, and to plan and execute specialized programs of marked difficulty, responsibility, and significance.
2. Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, and operation of the DoD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence systems acquisition, development, and/or sustainment; and knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting cycles, financial systems, and restrictions on expenditure of funds.
3. Knowledge of and skill in evaluating state-of-the-art and advancements in theory, application, technology, and policy affecting systems being developed, and in planning, organizing, and directing the functions and staff in critical aspects of development, production, and/or support of systems, subsystems, or equipment.
4. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
5. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, building consensus and coalitions, negotiating, and resolving conflicts with a variety of individuals and organizations as well as communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
