This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will prepare detailed monthly reports showing current status of funds by project. You will also assist in the development of operational budgets for the multiple units of the project
You will compile data required for project personnel for use in special reports such as analysis trends
You will identify cost accounts, organization codes, accounting elements, and object classification codes and will ensure correct account and sub-account numbers are used
In addition, you may perform administrative duties such as assisting with personnel administration, arrange for employee physicals, verify billings for payment, and monitor performance appraisals to ensure on time completion

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. GS-5 Qualifications
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with accounting or budget spreadsheets, collecting data for special reports, and verifying billings for payment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
GS-6 Qualifications
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with accounting or budget spreadsheets, collecting data for special reports, verifying billings for payment, and assisting in the development of operational budgets, and preparing detailed monthly reports showing current status of funds by project, type of expenditures, and variations from plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Accounting, Business Management, or Economics.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
GS-7 Qualifications
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with accounting or budget spreadsheets and use of a computerized financial management system to verify billings for payment, balance accounts, adjust discrepancies, verify the accuracy of budgetary data. Specialized experience also include developing/maintaining control records and assisting in the development of operational budgets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Accounting, Business Management, or Economics.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18.
