THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0849000 and is part of the FL SMO, National Guard.

Duties

As an, Supply Technician, GS-2005-07, you will perform routine and nonroutine material coordination duties for special programs, maintenance, or production shops. Responsible for local management of decentralized and decontrolled items which requires technical intervention to assure effective supply support and economy. Items are less stable or standardized and do not lend themselves to routine control through the use of the computer and variable supply level formulas. Plans requirements, both quantitative and monetary, to satisfy customer needs. Authorize procurement and is responsible for funds management.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only.Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. TEMPORARY PROMOTION- For Title 32 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If a permanent employee in the Title 32 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will retain their permanent status AND return to their previous Title 32 position once incumbent returns from military duty. If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her reemployment rights within 5 years, the selected individual may remain in this position without further competition. INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-For Current Title 5 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If an on-board individual employed in the Title 5 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3). If a Reduction-In-Force occurs and/or the military tour member exercises reemployment rights to this position, the indefinite appointee will have no reemployment rights to any other position and may be separated. If the military tour member, having reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, this position may be converted to a permanent status without further competition. INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-State National Guard Members (Not Current T5 or T32 Onboard) This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour), selectee will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3). If a Reduction-In-Force occurs and/or the military tour member exercises reemployment right to this position, the indefinite appointee will have no reemployment rights to any other position and may be separated. If the military tour member, having reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, this position may be converted to a permanent status without further competition. Military Grades: Warrant Officer / Enlisted; WO1 & below GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 musthave at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment; experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts. Experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management
